Description: A beloved DC spring tradition, the Flower Mart transforms the Cathedral grounds into a lively festival filled with flowers, food, music, and family-friendly fun. Running since 1939, this two-day event is one of the largest annual celebrations at the Cathedral and serves as a fundraiser supporting its gardens and grounds.
Visitors can browse a vibrant marketplace featuring plants, flowers, herbs, and unique gifts from dozens of vendors, while enjoying live entertainment throughout the day. Inside the Cathedral, the International Floral Exhibit showcases stunning displays inspired by cultures from around the world.
For families, highlights include a historic antique carousel, carnival-style games and rides, a dedicated children’s area, and festival treats ranging from casual bites to specialty favorites. Older kids and adults can even climb the Cathedral tower for panoramic city views (with age and height requirements).
