Description
Adams Morgan Day is a long-running, family-friendly neighborhood festival celebrating music, art, culture, food, and community. The 2026 festival is especially notable because it celebrates both America’s 250th anniversary and the festival’s 48th year.
Family Activities
- Live music and performances
- Dance Plaza featuring international dance styles, demonstrations, and opportunities for the audience to participate
- Artisan vendors selling art, ceramics, jewelry, home goods, fashion, and more
- Multicultural experiences and international food
- Community history and storytelling
- Kids/sports activities have been part of recent festival programming, including soccer, flag football, and games.
Why families may love it
- Very diverse: children can experience music, dance, food, and cultures from around the world.
- Interactive: the Dance Plaza is especially good for children who enjoy participating rather than just watching.
- Free: you can walk around and choose activities without buying an admission ticket.
- Good for different ages: parents, younger children, and older kids can all find something interesting.
Good to know
- This is a large neighborhood street festival, not a single attraction, so expect walking and crowds.
- Individual activities are spread around the Adams Morgan neighborhood.
- The official 2026 site is still adding details to some program areas, so the exact children’s schedule may change.
- There are many restaurants and food vendors, but food is not free.
- If your main goal is children’s activities, check the kids/sports programming before going.
Best For
Families who want a free, lively cultural festival with music, dancing, food, art, and interactive activities.
Cost: FREE admission (food and purchases extra).
