A beloved Memorial Day weekend tradition, Blast Off! launches Wolf Trap’s summer season with a festive evening of patriotic music and spectacular fireworks. The concert features United States Marine Band—known as “The President’s Own,” the nation’s oldest continuously active professional music organization with more than 225 years of history.

Families can enjoy a lively program of marching standards, patriotic classics, and favorites from popular musicals performed live at the Filene Center. The evening culminates in a dazzling fireworks show over the meadow, creating one of the region’s most iconic summer kickoff celebrations.

The 2026 performance is also part of Wolf Trap’s special America250 programming celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary, with themed musical selections and a specially designed fireworks finale.

Guests arriving early can attend a free pre-performance discussion featuring military music historians and experts on the Farmhouse Lawn at 7:00 PM.
