Description

A one-hour outdoor program exploring where our food comes from through story time, hands-on activities, and garden exploration. Families can also visit the nearby Growing Tomorrow garden exhibition, which explores food and the future.

Why families may love it

  • 🌱 Hands-on and outdoors: children can explore a real garden rather than just look at exhibits.
  • 📚 Combines storytelling with nature and food.
  • 👧 Particularly suitable for younger children and early learners.
  • 🆓 Completely free.

Good to know

  • This is an outdoor activity, so bring water and sun protection.
  • Families may bring their own blanket for story time and snacks.
  • Bees, mosquitoes, and other garden wildlife may be present.
  • The program can be modified or canceled for severe weather, especially heavy rain or thunderstorms.
  • Parents/guardians must remain with their children.

Best For

Toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary-age children who enjoy nature, gardening, food, and hands-on activities.
