Description
A special children’s birthday celebration for the 10th anniversary of NMAAHC. Children and their families can drop in at activity stations inspired by the museum’s distinctive architecture and celebrate through art, music, and creative play.
Activities
- 🎂 Create a birthday cake collage
- 🎈 Decorate a community balloon art wall
- 🏛️ Learn about what makes the museum’s architecture special
- 🎵 Learn the story behind Stevie Wonder’s “Happy Birthday” song and sing along
Why families may love it
- Designed specifically for young children, rather than being a general museum program.
- Very hands-on and creative—good for children who enjoy making things.
- The activities are short, flexible, drop-in style stations rather than a long lecture or tour.
- It’s part of the museum’s larger 10th-anniversary “Welcome Home” celebration.
Good to know
- Registration is required, even though the event is free.
- The official age range is 3–8, so this is particularly targeted toward preschool and elementary-age children.
- It takes place on the fourth-floor overlook.
- If you are already visiting NMAAHC that day, there are additional 10th-anniversary programs, including a 2:00–3:00 PM Go-Go performance.
Best For
Families with children ages 3–8 who enjoy art, music, creative activities, and hands-on museum programs.
Cost: FREE — registration required.
