Description: Maryland Day is the University of Maryland’s huge annual spring open house, transforming the entire campus into a family festival of learning, discovery, performances, sports, and hands-on fun. With 400+ free events and activities, it’s one of the best large-scale family outings in the DC metro area.
Visitors can explore five themed “Learning Neighborhoods” across campus:
- Ag Day Avenue – animals, farming, plants, dairy treats, horse shows
- Art & Design Place – music, dance, languages, creativity
- Science & Tech Way – STEM demos, astronomy, robotics, insects, engineering
- Sports & Rec Row – climbing walls, obstacle courses, fitness fun
- Terp Town Center – performances, mascot sightings, food, school showcases
